Events
Event sites and signups that look like your event, not a template
Running your event on Wix or Eventbrite? If the site feels generic and you're sorting signups by hand, there's a better fit: a branded site, an application or registration built for your event, and a checkout that doesn't take a cut of every ticket.
What I build for events
- An event website: overview, agenda, speakers and partners, sponsors, travel, and FAQ pages, written in your voice
- An application or registration form with a different path for each kind of attendee
- A review screen to approve, decline, or grade each application
- A branded checkout on Stripe that confirms people automatically
- Purchase deadlines with reminders and an expired-seat notice
- A status page and one-click links, so people check where they stand without emailing you
- Emails you can edit yourself: received, approved, not selected, payment confirmed, add to calendar
- Reporting on who has applied and who has paid
Good fits
- Invite-only summits and conferences where you review who attends
- Retreats and workshops with limited spots
- Programs and cohorts that take applications
- Events with more than one kind of attendee, like investors and founders, or sponsors and guests
Running a simple, open event? A ticketing platform may be all you need, and I'll tell you so.
What ticket fees add up to
An example with round numbers: 100 tickets at $200 each, one ticket per order.
| Where tickets are sold | Fees | Total on 100 tickets |
|---|---|---|
| Eventbrite | 3.7% + $1.79 service fee per ticket, plus 2.9% payment processing | $1,499 |
| Wix Events | 2.5% ticket service fee, plus payment processing | $500, plus processing |
| Your own checkout on Stripe | 2.9% + 30ยข per ticket, with no platform fee from me | $610 |
Fees checked October 2026: Eventbrite, Wix ticket service fees, Stripe. Your numbers will depend on ticket price and volume.
How an event build comes together
Events use the same five levels as everything else. Pick what your event needs.
A site and a signup
Level 1 Intake plus the Website add-on. A branded event site and one registration or application form that lands in one queue.
from $4,500
Applications you review
Up to Level 3. Add a review screen with approvals and grading, so the right people get in.
from $9,000
Hands-off from apply to attend
Level 4 plus the Payments add-on. Approval emails, a branded checkout, deadline reminders, and status links that run on their own.
from $12,250
The invite-only investor summit I'm building uses all five levels, from application to an outside-reviewer portal for its committee. Prices include the website add-on at its starting price; larger event sites are quoted by page count.
Questions
Do you take a cut of ticket sales?
No. Tickets are sold through a Stripe account in your name. Stripe charges its standard processing fee, and I charge nothing per ticket.
Can I keep using Eventbrite or Wix?
Yes. Some owners keep their ticketing and only add a branded application and review screen. We'll decide together what's worth replacing.
Can I reuse it next year?
Yes. The system stays yours, so next year's event starts from this year's site, forms, and emails instead of from scratch.
Do I need my own Stripe account?
Yes, in your name, so the money goes straight to you. I'll help you set it up if you don't have one.
Planning an event?
Twenty minutes, free. Tell me about the event and how people sign up today. I'll tell you honestly what's worth building.
